March 1,1 2021 will be the tenth anniversary of Japan’s Great Eastern Earthquake, Tsunami and Nuclear disaster. This disaster stole around 20,000 human live and the World Bank estimated its economic cost to be US$235 billion. The nuclear dimensions were eventually managed, but not without ongoing cost. All involved realised that things were on the brink of being much work. However, the tragedy is also filled with stories of heroism and the US military support for the impacted people helped reshaped the Alliance.
The anniversary of this event makes now an excellent time to learn more about what happened and why it matters so much today. YCAPS has developed a member-sourced recommended reading and watch list.
If you have any recommendations to share with the group, please review the link to our list below and follow the example format. Once you've compiled your recommendations please send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org so we can add them to the list. We look forward to hearing from you!
