Summary by Andrew Marvin*
On a recent evening, ASPEN members gathered with the U.S. Naval Attaché for a casual dinner at Theo’s Restaurant in The New Sanno. The event provided a relaxed setting for members to strengthen professional relationships, exchange perspectives on regional security issues, and build connections across the U.S.-Japan security community.

Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed engaging conversations with one another and with representatives from the U.S. Embassy while sharing a meal together. The informal atmosphere encouraged meaningful dialogue and networking among security practitioners at various stages of their careers, further supporting ASPEN’s mission of fostering enduring professional relationships between Japanese and American security professionals.

The Allied Security Practitioners Exchange Network (ASPEN) is an initiative hosted by YCAPS that focuses on the professional development of Japanese and United States security practitioners through networking, dialogue, and educational programming.
