The 2025 Manila Dialogue on ASEAN Maritime Security and the2024 Manila Dialogue on the South China Sea have emerged as essential forums for addressing maritime security challenges facing ASEAN member states. In this seminar, Dr. Bich Tran will examine the key outcomes from the 2024 Manila Dialogue on the South China Sea, with particular emphasis on the strategic insights and policy recommendations that emerged from participant discussions. Dr. Tran will also outline the objectives and anticipated outcomes for the forthcoming 2025 Manila Dialogue on ASEAN Maritime Security, scheduled for November 5-7.

Dr. Bich Tran (pronounced "Bik Trahn") is a research fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS). She holds non-resident fellowships with Verve Research, We Protect Our Seas (WPS), and the Yokosuka Council on Asia-Pacific Studies (YCAPS). Her research interests include grand strategy, maritime security, cybersecurity, and outer space security, among other issues at the intersection between geopolitics and technology.
