    YCAPS is delighted to invite Dr Sándor Seremet, Senior Research Fellow at the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs, for out next Indo-Pacific Policy Dialogue to discuss the current state of Ukraine-Russia relations and the implications for both Europe and the Indo-Pacific region. The ongoing war in Ukraine has led to geopolitical upheaval and uncertainty not only in the region but with global reverberations, potentially threatening the foundations of the post-Cold War international order. This session offers an invaluable opportunity for policymakers, scholars, and enthusiasts to gain insights into the current geopolitical implications of the Ukraine-Russia relations and their implications going forward for the Indo-Pacific region, Europe and beyond.

    Speaker: Dr Sándor Seremet received his MA degree in History at the Uzhorod National University (UA). He defended his PhD thesis in 2016 at the Pázmány Péter Catholic University about the procedure of border creation of today’s Transcarpathia after the end of WWI. From 2020, he is an Associate Research Fellow of the Institute for Foreign Affairs and Trade. From November 2022, he is an expert at the Eurasian Centre of János Neumann University. From March 2023, he is a Senior Research Fellow at the Hungarian Institute of International Affairs.

    Moderator: Dr. Stephen Nagy is Director for Policy Research at YCAPS. Concurrently, he is a professor at the International Christian University in Tokyo, a visiting fellow at HIIA, and a visiting fellow with the Japan Institute for International Affairs (JIIA).
