On September 6th, YCAPS hosted a small group event where 18 YCAPS members gathered to enjoy an afternoon of baseball and cameraderie. For many in the group, it was their first time to see a Japanese farm league game and it proved to be an exciting and enjoyable day. Unlike the majors which can tend to be almost mechanical in its perfection, the days game was filled with surprises and heavy action. Some of our members were experienced baseball fans, and they helped to explain what was happening to those in the group who were newer to baseball and not as familiar with all of the intricacies of the game.

The game started with a quick lead for the Fighters, going 2 up in the first inning. By the later half of the game, the local Baystars were fighting from behind to try to catch up, the score gap having been increased to 6-3. By the time the final innings came around, the Baystars were still several runs behind but had the bases loaded and the expectations from the crowd were almost electric. All in all, it really proved to be a great activity and something that many mmebers felt they would enjoy going to again.

After the game, a smaller group of around 11 members stayed to enjoy dinner and conversation at a nearby restaurant. As the members enjoyed delicious seafood, they made plans for future outings and strengthened thier relationships. YCAPS looks forward to the next Yokosuka event!
