    Keiko Mitchell

    Director for Community Relations

     

    Keiko Mitchell has a wide range of interests and experiences, including serving as an event planner, Japanese teacher, translator, yoga instructor, Ayurvedic chef and masseuse, and business consultant.


    She has done extensive work with non-profit organizations, volunteer organizations, and charitable events. She is passionate about serving children with disabilities and mental illnesses, foster children, local business owners, and U.S. military service members and their family members. Currently, she volunteers for the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society and the United Service Organizations, where she recently earned the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for her efforts. Keiko served on the Board of Naval Officers’ Spouses’ Club of Washington D.C., where she focused on event coordination, and simultaneously served as the assistant treasurer of the Washington-Tokyo Women’s Club.

    Keiko graduated from Shirayuri University in Tokyo with a bachelor’s degree in French literature. She was the vice chair of the university festival, which was attended by more than 1000 guests.

     

    Her passion is working to improve the quality of human lives and to benefit other people, groups and organizations. This is her ikigai (a reason for being).
