    Elizabeth Gamarra

    Elizabeth Gamarra is a TEDx speaker, Fulbrighter at Instituto Empresa (IE) University, and former World Rotary Peace Fellow at International Christian University (ICU) is a researcher and mediator trainee through Mediation Beyond Borders International. She has a double Masters in the field of Mental Health (U.S) and Peace and Conflict Studies (Japan) permitting her to work as a therapist with refugee, and indigenous communities from North and South America; as well as NGOs. After completing her graduate-level studies at the age of 19, she worked closely with Amnesty International USA, the Center of Migration and Refugee Integration, the Global Peacebuilding of Japan, and currently, the Academic Council of the United Nations Systems (ACUNS). She is concurrently a Japanese Government funded MEXT Graduate Researcher at International Christian University. In middle school, she founded “Generation of Legacies,” an NGO focused on POC educational empowerment. She is the former recipient of the 2020 TUMI USA National Award, the Martin Luther King Drum Major Award, Young Philanthropy Award, the Diversity and Equity University Award among others. Currently, she sits in the GPAJ Board of Directors and is a Board of Trustees for Pax Natura International. Recently she has joined the Pacific Forum Young Leaders Program as a Young Leader in Japan.
