Sasebo Koma Painting Class
YCAPS Sasebo Community Conversation Webinar (via Zoom) -- 2000 (JST) 26 May 2021
Sasebo Spinning Top, also known as “Sasebo Koma” is a toy unique to Sasebo City in Nagasaki Prefecture. These hand-painted toys make for great souvenirs and are often considered a lucky charm for New Years or other Japanese holidays.
A YCAPS supporter in Sasebo is eager to provide this unique experience, to include supplies and an online painting class, to YCAPS members under SOFA status and connected with the Yokosuka base. If you are a SOFA member living in Yokosuka and are interested in participating in this rare opportunity, please email email@example.com in order to reserve your spot. The deadline for signing up is 20 May. First come, first served.
The Sasebo expert will ship the supplies from Sasebo to your doorstep and lead you in an online session on 26 May at 8:00pm (2000) on how to make, paint, and play with this toy!
