• Japan - North Korea Relations

Getting to Know Japan Webinar (via Zoom) -- Thursday, January 26 2023 at 1900 (JST)

Live in Japan long enough and you’ll see plenty of news articles about North Korea’s missile testing. Perhaps you even heard the emergency alert system sound off earlier this year. How worried should we be about this unruly neighbor country? What does the political relationship, or lack thereof, look like between Japan and North Korea, and how has it changed over time? Dr. Ryo Hinata-Yamaguchi, an expert in Indo-Pacific security issues and North Korean military policy, will share his research with us. His presentation will be followed by a 30-minute Q&A session.
