    Dr. Yujin Yaguchi, a Professor of American Studies at the University of Tokyo, will provide an introductory overview of the history of Japan's cultural influence on Hawaii as well as discuss the memory of Pearl Harbor in Japan and among Japanese tourists to the island.

    Dr. Yujin Yaguchi is Vice President (Global Education) and Professor of American Studies at the University of Tokyo. His specialty is U.S.-Japan cultural relations. In particular, he has written extensively on the history and culture of Hawai'i both in Japanese and English (https://yaguchiyujin.com/cv-e.html), including on the memory of Pearl Harbor in Japan and among Japanese tourists to the island. He received his Ph.D. in American Studies from the College of William and Mary.
