U.S. - Japan Trade Relations
Getting to Know Japan Webinar (via Zoom) -- Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 19:00 (JST)
U.S.-Japan trade relations have gone from being highly adversarial in the 1980s and 1990s to being much more cooperative in recent years. But the Trump administration’s focus on tariffs has created new challenges for Japan. David Boling’s presentation will cover a brief history of U.S.-Japan trade relations with a focus also on how trade will play out in the upcoming meeting between Prime Minster Takaichi and President Trump.
