In Stormy Seas: Climate Change, Maritime Security and the QUAD
YCAPS Community Conversation Series - 13th June, 18:15 (Fussa In-Person event)
Maritime security is one of the most vulnerable domains of security in the face of changing climate. The physical impacts of climate change can derail existing security mechanisms and strategies of countries and collectives. The Quad's goal of securing a 'free and open Indo-pacific' could be disrupted in several ways by direct and indirect impacts of climate change. This talk aims to analyse these threats and deliberate on how the QUAD can augment efforts to deal with these challenges.
