YCAPS will host Lieutenant Colonel Aita Moriki, a Pilot of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and researcher at Japan’s National Institute for Defense Studies, as part of the Indo-Pacific Maritime Hour live webinar series. He will speak about key findings and implications from his paper “The True Meaning of the Chinese Air Force’s Flying Transport Aircraft Near Malaysia: Airborne Units in Power Projection.”

Lieutenant Colonel Aita Moriki is a Pilot and Former Commander of the 302nd Tactical Fighter Squadron, Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF). Lieutenant Colonel Aita previously served as a researcher at the JASDF Center for Air and Space Power Strategic Studies (CASPSS). He is currently working at the National Institute for Defense Studies (NIDS) and is a doctoral student specializing in the Chinese armed forces at Tsukuba University.
