On Wednesday, August 5, YCAPS’ Subic Squad Forum Fellows attended a webinar with guest speaker Retired Navy Reservist Rear Admiral Roy Vincent T Trinidad. Rear Admiral Trinidad currently serves as the Armed Forces of the Philippines Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea. He discussed how military cooperation in the Philippines takes place through bilateral and multilateral activities, including military exercises. He also provided a brief history of the West Philippine Sea and discussed ongoing naval activities and maritime security developments in the region.

On Thursday, September 10, YCAPS Subic Squad Forum Fellows attended a webinar with Herman Joseph S. Kraft of the Department of Political Science at the University of the Philippines Diliman and Christopher B. Johnstone, Partner and Co-Chair of the Defense & National Security Practice at The Asia Group. The speakers shared their perspectives on the Philippine-U.S.-Japan-Australia SQUAD and discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation and advance initiatives through minilateral engagement.
