On 28 April 2025, YCAPS Special Advisor Mike Bosack and Maritime GENIE Ivy Ganadillo participated in the Australia-Korea Academic Maritime Security Dialogue: Coordinating Maritime Capacity in the Indo-Pacific. Hosted by LaTrobe Asia and the University of Western Australia, this policy dialogue focused on maritime security cooperation between Australia and the Republic of Korea, seeking to review progress that the two governments have already made and to identify areas of near-term and future engagement. The outcomes of this dialogue will be a report that serves to inform policy formation and decision making going forward.

Dr. Bosack and Ms. Ganadillo were both invited to present formal remarks during the dialogue. Drawing for his experience as an alliance manager and multilateral coordinator, Dr. Bosack explained the components of security relationships and how to cultivate cooperation through that framework. Ms. Ganadillo provided an expert summary of the initiatives and issues related to maritime security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, including with ASEAN nations.
