Hasumi Tani
University Engagement Director
Hasumi Tani is a rising senior studying international relations and law at International Christian University. She was born in Tokyo, raised in Shanghai and Beijing and attended an American International School. From August 2019, she attended Georgetown University in Washington D.C. for her year-long exchange program where she studied international security policies and international law under Victor Cha and Madeleine Albright. Prior to this position at YCAPS, she has worked in an array of institutions and projects regarding international cyberspace law, East Asia regionalism, Sino-U.S. relations, as well as security policies. She is also an active member at her university’s moot court team. As a former participant in YCAPS-hosted events, she is interested in acting as a liaison between YCAPS and the university scene in hopes to create more dialogues and opportunities for university students here in Japan.
